Do you have a workout regimen? If so, what is it? Yes. Run 1.5 miles every other day, free weight burn outs 4 days/week for an hour consisting of a series of push ups, several ab workouts and static stretching.

Are you easy to work with? DEFINITELY! If you can’t work with me, you can’t work with anybody.

What do you love about modeling? What I love most about modeling is the fact that it gives me a platform I can use to be a positive influence and good example to others.

‘UNLIKE’ Any Other. Interview with Fashion Designer Sven Oesch

Zurich Fashion Designer, Sven Oesch, takes time out of his schedule to answer questions about what inspires him, plans to bring designs to the United States and advice to up-and-coming designers.

Interview:

Where are you from and where were you born?
Sven Oesch: I was born in 1987 in Zurich (Switzerland) where I still live.
Did you study fashion design?
Sven Oesch: I graduated in Summer 2013 with a Bachelor (Hons) in Fashion Design and Technology, Specification Design.
Who is your client?
Sven Oesch: Fashion-conscious men between 20 and 45 who value individual style, good quality and special cuts. They are also interested in fashion & art.
Being based in Switzerland, do you have plans to bring your collection for retail sales in US?
Sven Oesch: At the moment I am selling mainly in Europe. US buyers are able to buy my clothes through my webpage. I am open minded and interested in request from US-retailers.
Where do you gain inspiration?
Sven Oesch: Mainly from architecture, art and from the street; also from music, films or during my process. I find inspiration at all times of the day. I think it’s important to bring all these different inspirations together.
If you could dress a dream celebrity client (someone you would love to see in your designs), who would that be? Why?
Sven Oesch: There isn’t just one favorite celebrity. I like Johnny Depp who already has a great style and Russell Brand. It would be nice to see them in my clothes. I want everyone to wear unlike FashionDesign. My goal is for people feel good in my clothes and feel like an individual.
What advice would you give to up-and-coming designers?
Sven Oesch: To have success, you have to be different than the others. That’s the most important thing. Additionally, you have to stay true to your style even if you do not have success right from the beginning. In the fashion industry, you need lots of patience and good contacts to the right people.
Knowing what you know now, what would you change in the beginning of your career?
Sven Oesch: In the beginning, it is important to accept opportunities that are presented with caution. Not every offer is serious and can lead to nothing.
What other designers and/or brands that inspire you?
Sven Oesch: I get inspire from many different designers. I really like the work of Balmain, Alexander Wang, Damir Doma and the style of Maison Martin Margiela. Ann Demeulemeester is great too.
Are you planning a new collection? If so, what should we expect?
Sven Oesch: A new colleciton is planned for S/S 14. You can expect the typical unlike FashionDesign style with individual cuts, special details and fabrics in good quality, but always wearable. There is of course a new story behind the collection.

What better way to complete your spring wardrobe and add a bit of edge to your look with leather. Throw on a pair of leather shorts from Gianfranco Ferrè or add that extra something by layering a Loewe light-weight leather jacket to your silk/chiffon dress. Bring On The 80′s Neon

Bold bright neon colors from the 80′s are back for summer.

It was hard not to see neon and fluorescent shades during the spring/summer 2013 collections from designer labels such as Ferragamo, TopMan, Gucci and E. Tautz to name a few. Vibrant shades were showcased from head-to-toe and various color blocking neon looks.

It Doesn’t Matter If You Wear Black & White

Black & White is a trend that’s always used in fashion; however, for the spring/summer 2013, it was the predominant in several collections.

Designers may have added some splashes of color every now and then in their collection but Black & White dominated over the S/S 13 runway. Trying this trend as a stripe patter like Costume National Homme collection or going full solid color, no matter what choice you go with you’ll be on the Black & White trend this summer!
