Writing Submission Guidelines & Suggestions
Obvious magazine appreciates stories that are both exciting and well written. Our editorial staff is constantly searching for material that is substantive & reflects the spirit of the publication. We request however, that before submitting your work, writers familiarize themselves with the aim of Obvious.
General Guidelines - All proposals should be submitted to Obvious via e-mail. We ask that writers begin to submit material only after requested to. Unsolicited manuscripts, complete or incomplete will not be reviewed. Proposals should be sent to info@obviousmag.com.
After a proposal has been reviewed, original, unpublished work will be reviewed by our editorial staff. We prefer that the submitted piece isn’t also being reviewed by other publications in addition to Obvious. Each writer is asked to submit only one piece at a time unless asked to do otherwise.
We ask that work be double-spaced, and submitted in 12 point, New Times Roman or comparable font without graphics for review purposes. Work should be carefully proofread, and free of grammatical and spelling errors. We also prefer that work is submitted in PDF or Word format. Scanned, faxed or forwarded work will not be reviewed.
Suggestions - Obvious Magazine is a high end, high fashion, cutting edge publications that seeks to breaks the rules of traditionalism while making a few rules of our own.
* Express yourself freely! Excitement as well as seasonal writing is always appreciated. (Upon review and receipt of material by our editorial staff, staff writers will be given an editorial calendar to ensure seasonal inclusion of work)
Poetry, how-to-lists, rules & suggestions for living, or society gossip are not things that Obvious wishes to publish.
Strong language is prohibited, and will not be reviewed for submission.
Because of the high volume of submissions, response time from Obvious may vary.

Full body, 3/4, head shot, etc. (see below). Try to where clothing that shows your body or you can wear swimwear if you prefer.
