I’m going to have to say hats are my favorite accessory when it comes to suiting up. They’re the icing on the cake. Hats are just what you need to complete the perfect outfit no matter what’s the occasion. Whether it be a fedora, a bowler or just a plain baseball cap, choose one that fits your personality and style.

White made an appearance in quite a few of the spring collections, but none were as shockingly void of color as Alexander Wang. He managed to maintain his downtown cool aesthetic without a stitch of black. Wang’s understated, casual pieces were effortlessly chic, perfect for his quintessential model-off-duty look. I was particularly drawn to his use of construction influences, from the white paint streaked through the models’ hair to the stiff canvas utilized for this edgy vest.
Dolce & Gabbana certainly took a more feminine approach to the hue with whimsical white lace, embroidery, and sheer fabrics. This silk chiffon bow tie dress paired with a lace embroidered 60’s style jacket is decidedly flirty and delicate. Even the woven Miss Sicily bag has been updated with white knits. Whether you go edgy or feminine with spring’s monochromatic white trend, remember the key is to keep it more minimalist than garish.

After a week of rain in New York and freezing cold temperatures in London, the sunny 75° weather in the City of Lights was a welcome relief. Fashion industry insiders traipsed aimlessly through the streets of Paris and took in the majestic beauty of the city. Naturally, a great deal of these trendsetters embraced classic kitten heels. Ladylike styling was a prominent trend in many of the fall collections, most notably Louis Vuitton and Prada. However, Valentino was the designer of choice for Paris Fashion Week footwear.
Fashion icon and Editor-at-Large of Nippon Vogue, Anna Dello Russo, as well as Alexa Chung were just two of several fashionistas spotted wearing these swoon-worthy Valentino kitten heels. The juxtaposition of the elegant black patent leather against the edgy studded detailing of the blush straps gives the heels an air of modern sophistication. Shoes that are both practical and fashion forward? Quelle surprise!

What do the latest satchels from Celine and platform boots from Christian Louboutin have in common? They are both leopard print, of course! The classic motif is making a major comeback this season and some of my favorite style makers are approaching the trend from a revolutionary perspective.
Design houses like Dolce & Gabbana as well as Yves Saint Laurent are setting themselves apart from the pack by utilizing vivid pops of color as an unexpected backdrop for the glamorous print. The pony hair Dolce & Gabbana Miss Sicily top-handle has been updated for the season in a myriad of brightly hued leopard prints that will undoubtedly get you noticed. For the less daring among us, Yves Saint Laurent’s violet leopard print scarf is a seriously chic option.
Whichever design you choose, do not be afraid to make a bold accessory statement this fall with intense shades of leopard print.

Red is one of the most exciting hues for fall. There is something empowering, sexy, and ostentatiously delicious about red that makes it one of my favorite color trends of the season. Tomas Maier embraced all of these traits in the Bottega Veneta fall collection, best exemplified by this radiant gown. The vibrant silk jersey appeared to effortlessly float down the runway and the satin belt forms an empire waist that will undoubtedly flatter all body types. It is evident that Maier truly understands how to dress real women. The corporate eveningwear displayed at Bottega Veneta provided the perfect yin to Givenchy’s yang.
Riccardo Tisci drew inspiration from menswear and presented impeccably tailored suits, in bright red for added glamour. There is no reason why corporate women cannot be fashion forward and sophisticated in the workplace. Show-stopping red from head to toe is a definite must-have for the upcoming season.

This is definitely BUZZ worthy! Obscur decided to go immortal to showcase their A/W 10 collection. It worked. The marketing is very clever and it draws you into the clothing.
The Obscur A/W10 collection is another morbid encounter between energy, abstraction and our souls (seen here in the look book). The AW10 line includes loose collar and sleeve ends, which can be taken off, or on, to create a unique silhouette and provide desirable shelter to your skin. The signature raw edges are often incorporated in the designs, to allow for a smoother transition of layering when combining different garments.
Honestly, I was a little taken by surprise when I view the story but I can appreciate Swedish based designer Richard Söderberg’s vision and artistry.
Bravo!

The end of 2010 is rapidly approaching and soon we will bid it farewell. Out with the old and in with the new. What follows is a list of gadgets you “must have” for 2011.
Amazon Kindle – The newest version of the Kindle (3G) can hold up to 3500 books. You can read up to a month without recharging and it also has Wi-Fi. The Kindle stores gives you access to over 630,000 popular books from $9.99. You can read leading magazines and international newspapers before they hit the newsstands and you have access to thousands of blogs (www.amazon.com/kindle).
Droid Pro by Motorola – Motorola and Verizon Wireless recently introduced the Droid Pro. The Droid Pro will have a 3.1 touch screen with a full QWERTY keyboard. It also has Adobe Flash Player 10 and Wi-Fi just to name a few features. There is also an application which allows you to create, view, and edit Word and Excel documents (www.motorola.com).
BlackBerry PlayBook - BlackBerry recently introduced their version of the tablet PC. The BlackBerry PlayBook allows users to browse the web, play games; it is Adobe Flash 10.1 enabled and has Wi-Fi. In addition to these features, you can pair your Blackberry Smartphone with the BlackBerry PlayBook via secure Bluetooth connection to have full access to email, calendar, BBM, documents and more (www.blackberry.com).
