Taking Fashion Back to Business

In very exciting news, Mayor Bloomberg has proposed an innovative initiative to keep New York as the premier location for the fashion industry. Not only has he promised to provide capital for production and manufacturing contacts through the New York Fashion Fund, but, through his six part initiative, he is also proposing a program called Designers as Entrepreneurs that helps emerging designers develop business plans. Bloomberg sites that despite the fashion industry’s appraisal of creativity, there is much need for the nurturing of business and management skills.
