French Vogue Elects a New Editor-in-Chief

January 2011

Emmanuelle Alt was elected the new Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris after the former chief resigned, supposedly due to a recent fallout with Balenciaga. Reliable sources state that Roitfeld was involved with some shady dealings concerning one of Balenciaga’s sample dresses. Balenciaga lent the sample to Roitfeld for an editorial shoot and somehow the dress ended up at Max Mara’s design studio (where it was copied before it was returned).

Sources say it was no mistake that the dress ended up Max Mara’s design studio.  French Vogue was blacklisted by Balenciaga and two other designers.  Roitfeld was later asked to resign, and less than a month later Emmanuelle Alt was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris. Alt says she is working hard to develop the incredible potential of the Vogue Paris she knows so well.
