Making Moves Monday: DJ Fabrixx

March 2011

Words By The Derrick Smith.

Often DJ’s hold many different titles and Brooklyn, New York’s own Angie “DJ Fabrixx” Jackson is a 24 year old is no exception. She is an emerging DJ/Songwriter, music journalist and most recently Internet Radio Personality. In just 3 years deejaying,  she’s already been nominated for an Urban Lyfe Award for Best Upcoming DJ.

Angie has a lot of big things in the works and not only is she keeping the crowd moving she’s helping steer people in the right direction just as she does with music.

Moving Right Along : DJ Fabrixx

Derrick Smith: Your influences are the late Roc Raida, Jam Master Jay and DJ AM. What would you like to be remembered for?

DJ Fabrixx: I’d like to be remembered for being the ultimate crowd mover and the executioner when it comes to the tables. I want to be remembered for being ‘The Event’.

DS: In three years you’ve accomplished so much. How are you able to balance everything?

DJF: I just pray on every situation. I feel like everything isn’t as balanced as it could be so I recently have management to keep everything balanced for me.

DS: Every DJ has a go to song to get the party started which is yours?

DJF: Currently, my go to song is Nicki Minaj “Did It On ‘Em”. The club goes bananas!

DS: How has you becoming a DJ affected lives in a positive way?

DJF: Becoming a DJ has affected lives positively in many ways. Many new artist have been heard in a club of 200 plus people. My website serves as an outlet for many artist as well allowing them to shine and expand their fan base. I also mentor people who have reached out to me via Twitter or Facebook who are trying to break into the music industry. I’m not famous but being well known makes me a public figure in the eyes of some and allows me an opportunity to lend a hand to others and give advice.

DS: What ultimate goal would you  like to accomplish this year?

DJF: ‎Aside from deejaying, I do a lot of community service work as well as donate to charities. I’d also like to give back more. I would like to throw a few events where all of the proceeds will go to specific charities and organizations.
