Pepper is often used as giving food some extra flavor. But this Pepper brings a different kind of flavor to the world. She’s a 23 year old professional makeup artist from Brooklyn, NY and the owner of Composition, Inc.  She also works as a  makeup artist and Sales Specialist for Urban Decay Cosmetics.

She’s a hard worker. In the past she’s hosted her own fashion shows, beauty showcases and makeup for an independent film. She has a quote she stands by: “Every girl deserves to glisten and shine.” This year marks her 3 year anniversary of her Blog and 2 year anniversary of her website.  It’s safe to say she’s gleaming and will give us ways we can shine also.

Derrick Smith: What is the meaning behind your quote, “Every girl deserves to glisten and shine”?

Pepper: Regardless of what race, height or weight you are every woman should feel like a star to herself. Every women deserves to feel beautiful.

DS: How important is skin care to you?

P: Skin care is the foundation to beautiful. No matter how much makeup you use, if you don’t have good skin care it’s visible.

DS: You’re the founder of Composition, Inc. How did that come about?

P: I decided to start my company after I decided narrowed down exactly what I wanted to do. My love for painting, ceramics and makeup inspired me to created my own freelance company for makeup and hair.

DS: Your skin is beautiful.  What tips can you give us on maintaining healthy skin?

P: Don’t EVER sleep with makeup on. Always use moisturizer with at least SPF 15 or more.

DS: A lot of people lack confidence due to skin problems. Do have any encouraging words for them?

P: Problematic skin is a challenge a lot of people face. No one is perfect. Everyone has there own bundle of flaws. Its easier said than done but when your facing a issue that is pertaining to appearance. Looks makes up a small portion of you are as person and if you feel otherwise you need to reflect with self. You want to work towards improving your skin with a consist regimen. Your not always going to seek the results you want but I’m a firm believer that true beauty comes from the inside and works it way outwards. Connect with yourself and look at all the other qualities that build you up as  a beautiful person and not concentrate on your flaws.
