Male Model vs. Female Model Cover Competition

We’re looking for one (1) cover model to be on the September/October 2012 cover. The model must exude fashion and have edge. One (1) winner will have their own individual cover and a 6 – 8 page editorial shot by a top photographer. The shoot will include: hair, makeup/grooming, high fashion wardrobe, and video.

No purchase necessary.

Rules:

YOU MUST ‘Like’ OUR FACEBOOK PAGE www.facebook.com/ObviousMag AND FOLLOW US ON TWITTER at: @ObviousMag to qualify. Please pay close attention. NO EXCEPTIONS. Verification will be made. If you don’t have a Facebook or Twitter account, sign up for one. You must have one to qualify.

We’re only posting 50 male and 50 female models. Once we reach max, we will no longer accept submissions however voting will continue until June 19, 2012. If you are selected, you will receive an email with your contestant number and link to your submission. We will also send a Tweet to you.

Email us two (2) natural light, clean, unedited snapshots or Polaroids with no makeup. We recommend going outside in a bright, shaded area and pose against a plain background. Send one (1) full body shot and one (1) headshot (see example). We only need 2 images and they must meet requirements.

DO NOT SEND ANY PROFESSIONAL IMAGES. They will not be accepted and you will not be considered.

This contest will be VERY strict. If you do not abide by the rules, you will not be considered.

In 3 short years, OBVIOUS Magazine has gained international appeal and continues to grow globally. In 75 words or less, why should we select you for one of our September/October Covers? (If you exceed 75 words, you will not be considered).

Height 5’10” – 6’4”
Waist 28”- 36”
Age 18 – 30

Female Requirements:
Height 5’7” – 6’0”
Dress: 0 – 14
Age 18 – 28

You will NOT be compensated (paid) for this contest or cover/editorial.

Only one (1) male or (1) female will be selected. Winner will receive individual covers and a 6 – 8 page editorial.

Cover shoot will take place in New York, New York. You’ll be responsible for your own travel arrangements.

The creative process is solely based on the vision and theme of the editors and OBVIOUS Magazine. You will not have any input on creative direction.

You do not qualify if you were a previous cover model or featured in a previous editorial.

CONTEST TIMELINE BREAKDOWN

Submission Starts: May 23, 2012 (We are only posting 50 male and 50 female models). Send images to: [email protected]

Contest Starts: May 28, 2012 (We will start posting contestants via our Facebook Page)

First Round of Eliminations: June 12, 2012. Top 10 Male and Female Models selected. Contest moves from Facebook to Obviousmag.com.

Finalist Selected (Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Models selected): June 19, 2012. Finalist will make a three (3) minute video showing their personality and why he or she should win).

Winner Announced: July 4, 2012 via Obviousmag.com. We will also reveal additional prizes for the winner of competition.

Finalist Rules:

Finalists will be selected based on an array of criteria such as top votes. Six (6) models, three (3) men and three (3) women will be selected. Finalist will be posted on Obviousmag.com. Finalist will do a three (3) minute video displaying personality and explaining why you should win the competition.

Cover shoot date: July 14 2012, in New York City.
