Dream about being on the cover of OBVIOUS Magazine? Here’s your chance!

This time we are looking for unique individuals. We strongly suggest plus-size models, natural red heads, freckled models, and albino models apply too.

We’re looking for two (2) cover models to be on the March/April 2014 covers. The models must exude personality and have an edge. Each winner will have their own individual cover and a 6 – 8 page editorial shot by a top photographer. The shoot will include: hair, makeup/grooming, high fashion wardrobe, and behind-the-scenes video.

YOU MUST ‘LIKE’ OUR FACEBOOK PAGE: www.facebook.com/ObviousMag AND ‘LIKE’ OUR INSTAGRAM PAGE: @ObviousMag to qualify. NO EXCEPTIONS. Verification will be made if you make it to the finals. If you do not have a Facebook or Instagram account, sign up for one. You must have both to qualify. This allows us to cross market.

Height 5’9” – 6’4”

Female Requirements:

Height 5’6” – 6’0”
Dress: 0 – 14
Age 16 – 30

Do not submit if you’re not serious about being a model. We take what we do very seriously. We’re only posting models that meet our requirements. If you meet our requirements, you will receive an email with your contestant number and link to your post via Facebook and Instagram. Once you go live, start promoting your post on Facebook and Instagram.

Email us two (2) natural light, clean, unedited snapshots or Polaroid with no makeup and hair pulled back. We recommend going outside in a bright, open-shaded area and pose against a plain light colored background (preferably white). One (1) full body shot and one (1) headshot (see examples). We only need 2 images and they must meet requirements. We prefer individual images. DO NOT SEND IMAGES IN A COLLAGE. NO PROFESSIONAL IMAGES. NO PROFESSIONAL IMAGES. NO PROFESSIONAL IMAGES. SNAPSHOTS ONLY!

DO NOT SEND ANY PROFESSIONAL IMAGES. They will not be accepted and you will not be considered.

This contest will be VERY strict. If you do not abide by the rules, you will not be considered.

Disclaimer:

NO CHEATING! You are not allowed to use ANY 3rd Party apps to gain ‘LIKES’ for Facebook/Instagram portion of the contest or obviousmag.com. If you violate this, you will be IMMEDIATELY disqualified. Facebook and Instagram Security and OBVIOUS Magazine Security will closely monitor this contest.

Obvious Magazine has the right to post your image(s) via Facebook, Twitter, ObviousMag.com, Tumblr, Instagram video and/or any print promotion. We have the right to edit all entries. No promotion of product(s).

You will NOT be compensated (paid) for this contest or cover/editorial.

**NOTE** Prizes will be rewarded to winners only. Dates to receive awards will be between March 1st – July 1st 2014 due to scheduling and other conditions.

Cover shoot will take place in New York, New York. Winners are responsible for their own travel arrangements to New York City.

The creative process is solely based on the vision and theme of the editors, directors and OBVIOUS Magazine. You will not have any input on creative direction.

You do not qualify if you were a previous cover model or featured in a previous editorial.

CONTEST TIMELINE BREAKDOWN

Submission and Contest Starts: December 27, 2013. Send images to: SUBMISSIONS CLOSED! (We will start posting contestants via our Facebook Page and Instagram on this date).

Submissions End: JANUARY 2, 2014 at 12pm PST/ 3pm EST.

Finalist Revealed (12 models): January 13, 2013. Fans can still vote for finalist via obviousmag.com.

Winner Announced (2 models only): January 24, 2014 NEW REVEAL DATE: January 21, 2014 LIVE via Obviousmag.com (Ustream) and Facebook Ustream at 12pm PST/3pm EST.

Cover shoot dates: February 1st and 2nd NEW SHOOT DATES: FEBRUARY 15- 16, 2014, in New York City.

Finalist Rules:

Finalists will be selected based on an array of criteria including top votes from Instagram and Facebook. Twelve (12) models will be selected. Finalist will be posted on obviousmag.com. Finalist must produce a three (3) minute video displaying personality and explaining why you should win the competition.
