#OBVIOUSMuse Cover Competition for Photographers

PHOTOGRAPHERS: Here’s your chance to win a cover on OBVIOUS Magazine with your muse and be seen by millions! The #OBVIOUSmuse will be globally recognized.

Only photographer’s can submit their muse. Model are not allowed to submit. You can select a male or female muse. No couples or twins please. This competition is for the photographer and their muse. 

We’re looking for one (1) cover model to feature on the September/October 2014 ‘Fashion Issue’ cover. We’re looking for an edgy model who looking to expand on their modeling career with this opportunity. This is a worldwide competition. No purchase necessary. Hashtag for competition is: #OBVIOUSmuse.

RULES: YOU MUST ‘LIKE’ OUR FACEBOOK PAGE www.facebook.com/ObviousMag AND ‘LIKE’ @ObviousMag to qualify. Please pay close attention. NO EXCEPTIONS. We will verify. If you don’t have a Facebook or Instagram account, sign up for one. It’s FREE.

You must have one to qualify. We’re only posting 60 models. Once we reach max, we will no longer accept submissions however voting will continue until July 7, 2014. If we select your model, you will receive an email stating so and we will tag your post on Instagram and post on Facebook. Once you submit, you cannot change your images. Once image post, its final.

Email us two (2) images (SEE ABOVE SAMPLE). One natural light, clean, unedited snapshots or Polaroids with no makeup (3/4 shot like in same). If model has long hair, pull back in a ponytail. We recommend going outside in a bright, shaded area and pose against a plain background. One (1) professional HIGH FASHION image (your choice). Photographer entering competition must shot both images. We only need 2 images and they must meet requirements. Choose wisely. DO NOT SEND US MORE THAN 2 IMAGES. No nudity please! Send images with information below to: [email protected] and you’re done. Do not over retouch. SEND BOTH IMAGES SEPARATELY PLEASE. DO NOT MAKE COLLAGE.

This contest will be VERY strict and competitive. You will not considered if you do not abide by the rules. Also, we do not like cheaters! We will monitor this competition closely. If we feel you are cheating and we verify, you’ll be disqualified. No questions asked.

Disclaimer:

You do not qualify if model was previous on a cover or featured in a previous editorial.

You are not allowed to use ANY 3rd Party apps to gain ‘LIKES’. If you violate this, you will be IMMEDIATELY disqualified. Facebook, Instagram Security Monitoring System and OBVIOUS Magazine will closely monitor this contest. Obvious Magazine has the right to post your image(s) via Facebook, Twitter, ObviousMag.com, Tumblr, video and/or any print promotion.

We have the right to use all entries as promotion via online and print. Photographer retains ownership of images. No promotion of product(s). You will NOT be compensated (paid) for this contest or cover/editorial. Only one (1) winner will win. Winner will receive individual cover and a 6 – 8 page editorial. This competition is worldwide. The creative process for final cover is solely based on the vision and theme of the editors and OBVIOUS Magazine.

CONTEST TIMELINE BREAKDOWN:

Submission Starts: June 20, 2014 (We are only posting 60 models). Send images to: [email protected]. Submissions ends once we post 60 models. We only consider the ‘LIKES’ on our Instagram and Facebook page.

Contest Starts: June 24, 2014. We will start posting contestants via our Facebook and Instagram pages.

First Round of Eliminations: July 8, 2014. Top 12 Models selected.

Finalist Selected (Top 6 Models selected): July 15, 2012. Finalist must create a three (3) minute video showcasing their personality and why he or she should win. We also want to see photographer and model interacting too. Also, photographer must photograph a new beauty image of the model and submit. We will provide instructions if you make the cut.

Winner Announced: July 22, 2012 via Obviousmag.com. Instagram and Facebook to follow. Winners will received cover and 6-8 page editorial. Winner selected based on Top Likes,Video and final beauty image portrait submitted.

Finalist Rules: Finalists selection based on Top Likes. Only six (6) models will make it to finals. We will reveal Finalist on Obviousmag.com. Finalist will do a three (3) minute video displaying personality and explaining why you should win the competition. Winning photographer and muse must submit high res final cover and editorial images by July 31, 2014 to meet printing deadline. We suggest using wardrobe that is current and on trend for the final cover and editorial.
