Soul-Centering Thoughts

by Hanif Abdur-Rahim

“Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.” Mark Twain

It is imperative to not fall into the culture of entitlement. Feeling as though something or someone owes you something is a sure way to the demise of one’s dreams. Work will always equate to something. The harder the struggle, the larger the reward and the greater the sacrifice, the greater the glory. The opposite is also true. Expecting a handout distracts one from being mission-oriented. The mission requires us to move with faith, understanding that sacrifice is the currency for the successful. TODAY, take 10 minutes and write down the things that you are willing to do to make your life more productive. Once they are written, take action. The world was here first and in order for abundant crops to grow, we must water it with our sweat. The results will be a wonderful harvest.

Must Read!!!

Straight and to the point! This is should be owned by every person in the world. It will help you make a difference in your life and help you life a FULL life.

The Four Agreements®

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don't Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don't Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Soul-Centering Thought

"A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle." Kahlil Gibran

Action is the missing ingredient for many great dreamers and ambitious people. Knowledge is never sufficient to move one's life forward. Knowledge coupled with action is the solution to stagnation. Stagnation is death and thoughts that are not moved into actions will soon die and be buried. When we act on sound knowledge, the reward is wisdom. True faith does not exist on the tongue. Faith is a result of moving with the trust that things will work out. The result of an action taken is always positive because it builds the muscles necessary to take additional actions, thereby increasing one's faith. TODAY, take a stagnant idea and move it into action. Life is best lived in motion and in the moment.
