Maintaining great skin requires dedication. Most men are unaware that keeping tabs on proper skin care as well as worrying about dead skin cells is important and have to be taught.
Being a forty-year old man with great skin took years of trail and error, however, I’ve finally have a hold on it. Like most teens, I had the worse facial acne. It made me very self-conscious and I became a loner. My mother saw how reclusive I had become and took me to see a dermatologist. That experience changed my life! I learned a lot about skin, the causes of acne and even how acne issues can also be genetic. She recommended a few options until we found what worked for me. To my surprise, I was able to use over-the-counter products that fit my budget. My dermatologist recommended a facial soap called Purpose by Johnson & Johnson (blue box) and Witch Hazel (you can buy both at CVS or Walgreen’s). Today, I still use Purpose on my entire body.
I also use an oil-free moisturizer with SPF 15, and two different facial scrubs because it maintains my skin’s moisture. I use Sabon Face Polisher in the morning and at night I use Clinique Face Scrub Exfoliant Visage for Men, which has a great tingling feeling once applied and leaves my skin fresh and rejuvenated. It also removes dead flakes, buildup of oil and lifts beard hairs. It clears the way for closer shaves and helps reduce ingrown hairs. I scrub two times a week.
Always consult a dermatologist before beginning any skincare regimen. I’m glad I shared my experience and hope it provides a solution to your skin concerns. Good luck!
