What’s your definition of confidence? It’s accepting what you know – your worth, your talent – and standing tall with it. So many women tell me they aren’t confident in their bodies. But break it down, and I bet there are certain things about your body you do feel confident about – maybe it’s just your shoulders or your eyes, but it’s a starting place. It’s recognizing what you do have to offer and rocking that, versus focusing on what you believe you don’t have.
Have you ever had body image issues? Most definitely! Growing up I never appreciated my body, but I was very aware and critical of it. Being taller and heavier than others in my class was one of the main reasons I felt like I didn’t fit in. Only in the past 2-4 years or so have I realized that I love my body and how to dress it, and also how lucky I am to be healthy and have a body type that has allowed me the career I have now that I never imagined for myself. Self-criticism and insecurities are still present but don’t hold me back with the strength they used to.
