For the ART of it

EVENT: "Paint, Pen and Poison: A Baroque Hoedown" by Darren Grealish and Ramses
One of the great things I love about Los Angeles is its artist. Darren Grealish and Ramses are no exception. With their own unique painting styles, both artist present superb presence with their vision.
The art reception curated by Rochelle Monique with showcase series of painting on aluminum panels and drawings on various grades of paper by Darren Grealish and Ramses was fresh and invigorating. This was a great low-key and fulfilling event with Stockholm Krystal Vodka, Asahi Beer & Hansen's Natural, yummy!!!.
Darren Grealish use of color, contrast and metallic was utilized very well with his "Rock in Roll" based inspiration as he puts it. "All the celebrities I've illustrated in my paintings are honored with my interpretation of there likeness," says Darren.
Ramses paintings have a great use of space and leaving you impress with the amount of negative space that surrounds a lot of his pieces drawing your eye directly to the subject at hand. His work with be featured in a upcoming major motion picture in the spring.
Please check out Darren Grealish website at www.darrengrealish.net and Ramses website at www.ramsesmedia.com. Both artist will have full features in our May/June issue of Obvious Magazine. Special thanks to Gen Art LA and Pure Consulting (Kimberly Goodnight) for the invitation and the expose to the artist.
