MARC JACOBS f/w 2009

Marc Jacobs is by far one of my favorite designers.  Whether it be designing for Louis Vuitton, or for  his own label, Jacobs has managed to capture the hearts of many women.  Jacobs decided to put a little glam and grit into the Fall 09 collection.

Miu Miu Mania

Miuccia Prada is one of the most innovative designers of our time.  Her Fall 2009 (Miu Miu) Collection has once again proven that she is a force to be reckoned with.  Sleeveless coat dresses primarily made in neutral tones appeared to be the main focal point of the show.  But not to disappoint, the designers incorporated rich violets, soft shades of turquoise, and of course black in the collection.  Fringed fur wraps, sheer blouses, and pencil skirts were other key pieces that were featuredin the line...  In summary,  although the collection is very forward, Miuccia was able to create a collection that is also very wearable.

Chanel Continues To Stay Chic For Fall 2009

It really shouldn't come as a shock to see what Chanel will produce season after season.  However, I am always amazed to see how designer Karl Lagerfeld continuously transforms the Chanel woman.  Being able to design for and keep an already existing clientele, while designing for newbies can be quite difficult.  Needless to say, Chanel tends to do it, and makes it look rather easy.

The Orphan With A Vision

Although his name isn't well known, his creations are most definitely recognizable. Simply pick up any high fashion magazine and you will see what I mean... Raphael Young is a designer who doesn't play around when it comes to creating a fierce pump.  His designs have been called everything from Couture to Edgy, and even Hard Rock to Sexy.  One thing's for sure, he has never been called boring.

He was born in Seoul, Korea to parents he didn't know.  The young Raphael was adopted by a french family at the age of four. The curious minded being has experimented in areas ranging from physics, to mathematics, to engineering (all of which his adopted father desired), and even the navy. Needless to say the creative minded youngster chose to follow in his uncles footsteps(a former designer of Yves Saint Laurent). If you dont know know about this talented designer, I suggest you start NOW!!!

The Ones To Watch

French designers Herve and Alice merged their talents to bring us their first collection for Fall 2009.   Heal Fashionlab is definetly a line that demands attention. The duo chose to design structured garments using beautiful silks and and knits.

Dior Goes Back to the 50’s for Fall 2009

Leave it up to Galliano to always incorporate a touch of “wow” in all he does.  Inspired by the 1950's,he outrageous designer showcased his creations on models that seemed to be half dressed. With exposed stockings, garters, and girdles, I couldn’t help but think of how proud Vanity 6 would have been.

Never shying away from color Galliano created stunning bubble skirts, and gorgeous belted waist coats in soft lilacs, flourescent orange, and even berry tones.

The Jackson's Mourn In Style

It was a day that caused millions around the world to shed tears.  On Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 memorial services for our King of Pop were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.  Despite all of the feuds and complications the family has had, the Jackson clan came together and displayed poise and elegance as they sat in the front row. Latoya Jackson reportedly called Donatella Versace personally to ask if the entire family be styled in Versace. The line her dearest brother (MJ) admired.

Cool Summer

I don't know if you ladies got it right this season, or whether I've been in a bubble surrounded by the fabulous and chic. All I do know is that the women I have spotted as of lately were bring their 'A' games. Summer 2009 has brought a great deal of options for trends, and like the humble servants you are, you ate it up.  One look I have come to appreciate is the look  I like to  call the East Coast  Bohemian.

Consisting of a loosey fitted draped blouse,  a skinny-slim legged  jean, and a slamming pump, this look is is versatile enough to go from day to evening. Jonathan Kelsey has become one of the front runners with his jaw dropping shoe designs.  If you havent heard of him, I suggest you get familiar.
