Gifted Youth

by Eddington Howard

Born in Tijuana, Mexico, 22 year old Diego Zuniga has recently released his FW 09/10 campaign, (images shot by Claudia Talaver and styled by Luis Almanza). The collection is titled «τεκτων» which is a greek term meaning builder or architect. Zuñiga stuck to a concrete colored palette resulting in the prominent use of black, blue, white and gray. Honestly it’s inspiring to see such a young designer bring something so fresh and innovative to the table, reassuring me that the future of menswear is in good hands. To find more information on this new artist you can view his Facebook profile, www.facebook.com/Diego.Zuniga.

Enjoy!

Saints in Satire

by Eddington Howard

What most consider “grunge fashion,” is nothing more than the usual stylish vintage threads worn by the East Hollywood and Williamsburg trendsetters, aka hipsters. AllSaints has released a campaign for their Autumn 09 collection immediately setting themselves apart from the rest. These looks remind me of the rare treasure I hope to find after a long weekend of vintage hunting. Right off the rack, AllSaints  has achieved the washed and worn look of your favorite pair of jeans or that perfect fitting shirt you just cant stop yourself from wearing.  I can see this line having great success, seeing as vintage clothing has become “all the rage” amongst today’s stylish youth. This season’s looks consist of pea coats, plaid shirts, jean jackets and beanies. Hopefully you can see the beauty in this line as quickly as I did. To view more check out www.allsaints.com. Love it!

Karate Kicks

by Eddington Howard

Alfredo Bannister is a Japanese fashion brand that specializes in hip footwear for guys. In 1992, the designer released the line in Tokyo and has since then become a top producer in men’s shoes around the world. The shoe line is well known for it’s high quality and Italian inspired designs, made with Japanese leather offering a good combination of edge and style.

Most of Alfred’s recent designs have been more street inspired, which is a dash of “dopeness” on the usual high top canvas shoe. Alfredo Bannister can be found throughout Tokyo as well as in London and Paris with a new shop soon to open in New York. The Flagship Store location is currently in Laforet Harajuku. Structured Living

by Eddington Howard

This is what I imagine when I think of architectural clothing. Designs with articulate detail made to fit the male body. Twenty-three year old designer Nahum Villasana stacks geometrical forms to create awesome silhouettes while creating a sense of immense depth. The line is focused on the garment construction, attention to technical detail, structure and stitching pieces that are sliced and fragmented in different layers of fabrics. Class in NOW in Session

by Eddington Howard

I heard a lot of  good things about this line before I even had the chance to check it out. When it comes to designers I usually don’t take any ones word for it. I’m the type that has to see first hand if this so called amazing line is actually, well, amazing. So, Public School made the cut gentlemen. Created and designed by Sean John’s former creative director Dao-Yi Chow and his partner in crime, Maxwell Osborne, also formally apart of the P-Diddy team. The line was materialized by the duo only two short months after leaving the Sean John label. That’s what you call NY hustle at it’s best. The line is a mixture of urban street looks with attention to detail and attractive cuts. I recommend Public School to anyone looking to add uniqueness and a dash of city flavor to their wardrobe. Definitive Masculinity

by Eddington Howard

Luise & Franck is a German label created in 2007 by two different minds with the same idea. To reflect the contemporary evolution of the definition, of masculinity. Having met at a fashion school is Paris, Franck Pouch and Luise Schwarze have become visionaries in the men’s fashion world. In there own words presenting a line that is made by ‘individuals for individuals.’ Mission accomplished boys, without a doubt. This is definitely what I picture when I think of masculinity and style for men in the 21st century. Their 2009 S/S collection is titled, ‘Reborn’ and their A/W entitled, ‘Vanished.’ Such concept in fashion is inspiring and reassuring.

Visit www.luiseandfranck.com for there most recent campaign and more information on this innovative line. Enjoy.

Beautiful Nightmares

by Eddington Howard

This Spring/Summer collection titled, ‘The Shockheaded Peter Collection, was designed by Danish designer Christian Westphal. Inspired by the stories of Heinrich Hoffman, author of the book entitled, ‘The Shockheaded Peter,’ written in 1844. This season’s designs tap into a the imagination of a young child, specifically the fears of monsters and creatures lurking in their closets and under there beds. Christian graduated from La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and began his career working under more established designers. Eventually making his way into Japan fashion week in Tokyo. This will be his first catwalk showcasing his brand on the global market. A favorite band of mine Franz Ferdinand has also chosen Mr.Westphal to create costumes for there upcoming tour. A great decision in my books. To view more from this designer on the move, visit: www.christianwestphal.com.

Rad by Rad Hourani’s new line is definitely giving you the best of unisex clothing this season. A little something for you and your significant other. Rad’s new Fall line consist of rectangular-cut jackets and vest layered over draping tee’s, which by the way are a huge favorite of mine this fall. This season’s material of choice is leather as well as cashmere which according to Mr.Hourani is easier to wear in cotton and jersey’s. These pieces will range anywhere from a $100 to $400. PS, Mr. Smith

by Eddington Howard

As usual the fabulous Paul Smith falls nothing short of amazing this fall. One of my designers by far always seems to set his self apart from the rest. This season’s line is titled, 'PS', which is the Italian version of the mainline. It features slim and masculine tapered looks that I feel would compliment any mans wardrobe. His looks are always so clean and classic yet stylish; my own personal style in a nutshell. 'PS' has become known as Mr. Smith’s jeans wear line and is one of twelve collections from this talented designer. Yes!
