Sachika went back to their core roots as designers and proves it’s okay to be the ‘Black Sheep’. Their latest collection was showcased at the OUE SKYSPACE in the US bank Tower, Downtown Los Angeles, CA on the 70th Floor on October 22, 2018 closing #LAFW.
Three words that best describe the collection are clean, classic, and sophisticated. We were impressed with the simplicity and construction of each piece that can compliment many body shapes. To-Tam and To-Nya Sachika purposely offers inclusion with various models and refreshing to see them pay homage to the woman. Their designs represented powerful women you often see James Bond movies with a hint Dynasty (the 80s) adding a modern twist. YES!
“‘Black Sheep’ celebrates women who are bold, innovative and unique. They aren’t afraid to be different, they stick to their vision and overcome adversity. Let’s empower one another!” says the designers.
The runway show featured notable faces Jaslene Gonzales (ANTM Cycle 8) and Erin Green (ANTM Cycle 24).
Black Sheep by SACHIKA presents a wardrobe made for the executive, high-corporate and ambitious woman. This all-black collection celebrates women who embrace their boldness, uniqueness, and courage to innovate in their respective work fields. This season, Fashion Designers To-Tam and To-Nya Sachika are playing with a mix of different textures such as faux fur, satin, polished ponti, ruffled knit and stretch modal. Each design of the “Black Sheep” collection is named after a powerful, iconic and successful woman such as Oprah, Jackie O, Michelle Obama and many more. The mission of the #IAMABLACKSHEEP campaign is to encourage women to divulge their struggle and obstacles as well as their success stories. Empowering hardworking women by forming a community that uplift one another, is one of the SACHIKA TWINS’ ultimate goals.
